At first glance, it may seem strange for a tool like Fliplet to be launching a Code Library. Fliplet is often thought of as a "no-code" app building platform. The term "no-code" refers to tools that do not require you to know or write code to use them, such as Wix or Zapier.

Fliplet's approach, however, is a prefab approach. As Fliplet CEO Ian Broom explains, Fliplet has always aimed to make app creation more accessible by removing barriers while still recognising that the best apps often need unique features. The Code Library is designed to make it easier than ever to build on top of Fliplet when customers need more specialised functionality.

Who is the Code Library for?

The Code Library is aimed at developers, hackers, and spreadsheet lovers. You do not need a background in software development, but it helps to be technically minded. For developers, the Code Library provides reusable code snippets. For non-developers, it offers examples of common features, with explanations, that can be copied and pasted straight into an app.

What does the Code Library include?

The Code Library has around 100 reference articles that include detailed examples of common features and code snippets that can be copied and pasted into an app. The articles cover a huge variety of topics, including:

  • Triggers, such as doing something when an app is clicked or when a screen loads
  • Actions, such as loading dynamic content, changing styles, changing colours, controlling visibility, and adding animations
  • Data manipulation, including getting, saving, sorting, filtering, and editing data
  • Checks and conditions, such as identifying a user's ID or testing whether one value is greater than another
  • Appearance customisation, including extending CSS and presentation settings further
  • Other customisations, such as adding a barcode scanner or custom analytics into an app

How can I access the Code Library?

You can access the Code Library through the menu links in Fliplet Studio, or go directly to code.fliplet.com.
